William L. Balch - Union Soldier

William L. Balch (Dec. 22, 1833 - Mar. 19, 1905 [2]) was born in Leroy, Ohio to Joel and Louisa (Manley) Balch [1]. On December 22, 1864 William married Susan E. Davis and together they would have four children.

Before the American Civil War William worked as a carpenter and had apparently relocated to Fremont, Indiana. During the civil war William enlisted in Company G of the 19th Indiana Infantry. Little information has been found regarding Williams time during the war or after. William died on March 19, 1905 and was buried in the Fremont Cemetery located in Fremont, Indiana.
