John Balch (c.1630 - June 16, 1662) was born to John and Margary (unknown maiden) Balch in Salem, Massachusetts.

John married Mary Conant, date unknown, and they had one child.

John died on June 16, 1662 the victim of a ferry that was upset, in a storm, while crossing between Salem and Beverly, Massachusetts (the image shows a red square in the likely location of John's drowning - a ferry crossed between Salem and Beverly at this point). In a will dated March 1662 he willed fifty acres of land to his brother Benjamin. Approximately five acres, that came with a house, were willed to his wife Mary. Their only child, Mary, apparently was deceased before the writing of this will.
