Israel Balch (January 26, 1751-Unknown) was born in Mansfield, Tolland County, Connecticut (see map for location) to Veren and Sarah (Taylor) Balch.
In February 1771 married Sarah Arnold. Israel and Sarah would have six children during their marriage.
During the American Revolution Israel served two terms of service in the American forces. First he served from September 2 to November 2, 1776 with Captain Sargeant's Company. His second term of service was from July 8, 1780 to December 8, 1780 with the 4th Connecticut Regiment.
